Tell us a little bit about Silvertip Resort and what you do there!

Overlooking the town of Canmore on the sunny side of Bow Valley, Silvertip Resort boasts unparalleled views. With a panoramic outlook and a backdrop of the Rocky Mountains; these spectacular views are unavailable anywhere else in the valley. Silvertip Resort is an 18 hole championship golf course with two dining rooms as well as meeting and wedding facilities onsite that hold up to 180 guests. Silvertip is also the only resort in the region on the south-facing side of the mountains. This means long, warm days on the course and extended evenings on the clubhouse patio.

I’m the Sales and Event Manager at Silvertip Resort and I am currently responsible for sales, organizing and executing golf tournaments, corporate events and weddings.

Having grown up in a small town in Saskatchewan, I moved to Canmore in 2009, joining Silvertip in 2010. I have now organized over 1,000 events at Silvertip Resort, and our team will soon be expanding to assist the events department for the upcoming wedding season!

What wedding services/packages do you offer?

We offer ceremony locations on site, including summer options and winter options, for up to 180 people.

For our on-site receptions, the Pavilion offers space for up to 180 guests, while Upper Stoney’s is the perfect spot for a more intimate celebration of up to 36 guests. 

Are there any differences between summer and winter wedding options at Silvertip?

Yes!  Once the golf course closes at the end of September we are able to hold ceremonies on our Three Sisters View Patio!  Meanwhile, for the warmer months, the Gazebo is open May through September with beautiful mountain views of the Rundle range and valley.  The Pavilion reception room is available for all seasons, with significantly lower rental rates and minimum spends in the shoulder and off-seasons.

Are there any typical Banff + Canmore activities couples and their guests can take part in close to the resort?

Downtown Canmore is just a five minute drive down the hill! You can dine in one of our restaurants while on site or take up a round of golf. There are also popular hiking trails nearby.

How would you describe your philosophy when it comes to working with couples to organize their wedding celebrations at Silvertip?

We want your experience with Silvertip Resort to feel stress-free and enjoyable. So our goal is to help you create a customizable, unique, and memorable mountain wedding for you and your guests.

How would you describe the aesthetic of your venue?

I would describe our venue as being rustic-chic while having mountain chalet charm. The architecture is born of nature. This is highlighted by Douglas Fir timber and handcrafted with local Rundle stone.

What is the most important advice you would give to couples when it comes to their Canmore wedding celebration? 

Try to relax and enjoy the planning process. And, on your big day, take in every moment!

Do you offer couples a tour of the venue before they start the booking process?

Yes!

Many guests comment on how beautiful the space was. They also say that we exceed their expectations during the planning process, as well as during the banquet service and how much they and their guests enjoyed the food!
